Quartz, explained.

Quartz countertops are about 90 percent ground natural quartz crystal bound with polymer resins and pigments. The result is harder than granite, low-porosity, and consistent slab to slab.

Because the look is engineered, quartz can mimic everything from cool Carrara marble to wild quartzite to concrete. It can also be a deliberate solid color or a subtle salt-and-pepper. The patterns are reliable in a way nature cannot manage.

We pick quartz when a kitchen has to look good for 30 years with very little maintenance. No sealing, ever. Highly stain-resistant for everyday spills. Wipe up coffee, wine, and oil promptly and it keeps looking new.
